ART AND EVALUATION

Collectors and art speculators who own important works of art and are willing to pledge these as collateral with which to apply for Bank facilities are welcome to visit the centre and book an appointment with our valuation officers for a thorough appraisal and valuation of the piece(s).
Our reputation as leading valuers and major stakeholders in the art sector will ensure the necessary standards and regulatory mechanisms are applied in the valuation process. This is in order that a true and fair opinion (certified by Nimbus) can be given on all works of art valued. This certified true value (expressed on original valuations sheets) serve as sufficient collateral with which to apply for facilities with accredited financial institutions.
Once the works have been valued, and the certified valuation sheets obtained, the centre is then able to connect the owners of the artworks with affiliate banks for immediate processing of facilities. (there is no additional charge for this service).

ART AND INSURANCE

When insuring valuable works of art, it is important to place a true and fair value on the works for purposes of determing a realistic premium payable on the work(s).
As the leading registered art auctioneers and valuers in the country (affiliated with major auction houses, museums and galleries world wide) and with the added experience of having organized the 1st art auction in Nigeria's history, we are confident in our ability to execute our obligations to the public with a high level of professionalism.
Once works have been valued, and Nimbus certified valuation sheets obtained, the valued works can then be insured by affiliate Insurance houses using the valuation sheets as guidelines.

ART INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO MANAGERS

As the Nigerian art market develops with the rest of the economy, local and international art speculators are becoming increasingly aware of the lucrative investment possibilities offered by the vibrant Nigerian art market.
This was recently demonstrated by BONHAMS of London's successful 2001 auction of contemporary Nigerian art and the Nimbus art gallery's historic auction of contemporary Nigerian art pieces in 1999 which posted sales proceeds in excess of N15,000,000 ($100,000).
As Art investment portfolio managers, our job is to help speculators take advantage of a Nigerian art market estimated to be worth in excess of one billion U.S Dollars.

THE NIMBUS SEAL

In accordance with Federal Government directives outlawing the export of all antiquities, the centre only deals in contemporary works of art and modern copies of original African craft.
In addition, as major stakeholders in the art sector estimated to be worth in excess of One billion U.S Dollars, we give added assurance of the originality and authenticity of every item purchased from the Centre. The centre also operates as a regulatory body monitoring standards, pricing and valuation in the trade.
